Engaging with the youth is a key principle of the museum. So, the museum maintains schemes that make the museum an interesting and accessible source of additional education.
The schemes sponsored by local businesses and ran by our volunteers (who all hold an enhanced DBS check).
Childrens Club
Find out when our next session on the Events Page.

Sponsored by Danzen Logistics Ltd, the museum hosts a regular children’s club. The club features arts & crafts and activities infused with local history.
The theme of the club differs each month and has previously included Myths & Legends, Victorian England and other topics relevant to the local area.
The club is open to anyone aged 7-11 and runs from 10:30am until 12:30pm.
Thanks to our sponsor the club is run at a reduced rate of £3 per child and hosted in our facilities restored by N S RICKETT Ltd roofing. Due to the limited number of volunteers, we ask each child to be accompanied by an Adult.

Prebooking and payment is essential.
Reserve a place by contacting us or by coming in.
Youth Champion Scheme
The Youth Champion Scheme is kindly sponsored by S. Cook Autobody Ltd

We accept one Youth Champion who is local to the area and is in secondary education. The Champion will act as a consultant to the museum, ensuring that out projects and future plans encourage young people to get involved.
Working with our volunteer team, we want to ensure that you are involved in what we do and learn about the heritage of the area so it is preserved for future generations.
